This story happened quite a while ago. (Sorry i aint up-to-date) but it really makes me feel sad and disgusted that this really had happened here in Singapore.
Notice how he asked for his well deserved pay? How much is S$10 to those UK man? Why did they have to do this to an old man? They are really sadist. In one of the youtube description of the video, it was quoted that one of the guys who did this simply say he was 'insensitive'. HELLO! INSENSITIVE?! Those 3 guys took a ride in an 67-yr old ah pek's trishaw and WANTS TO AVOID PAYING!!! i do not think insensitive is the right word to use.
And and... i didnt know a trishaw could take 3 full grown adults! Uncle Lee(the trishaw uncle) has already exceeded his limits! Those man should have given him more for tips!! Not criticising him for being slow!!!
Seriously i can rant on and on about this.. but what's the point now? esp when Uncle Lee is not angry with them anymore.
People... whoever is reading this.. I know people our age frequents Clarke Quey. PLEASE! IF YOU SEE HIM... HELP HIM OUT. of cos, i dont mean just giving him MONEY! Let's not pity him.. He doesnt need our pity. He is able. And btw, i really admire the fact that he is working for himself and not begging! Ask him to take u for a short short ride, maybe from a traffic light to another traffic light? =)
Uncle Lee came to our attention becos of this incident. If I didnt know better, i guess everytime i step into Clarke Quey, I would only head towards MOS. My head filled wif excitement, thinking about the dancefloor, music and drinks. Perhaps I had already saw his old man before, pedalling on the road. But couldnt care enough to know him..
